“How can you change the world? One Act of Random Kindness at a time.”
-From the movie ‘Evan Almighty’

Each month, we go into various neighborhoods throughout the city and simply serve. Each month is different, and the outreaches range from distributing food and clothes, to washing windshields at a gas station, to simply cleaning up a neighborhood. Individuals and groups of volunteers partner with us to impact people all over the city.

Sometimes, the most effective way to make a difference in someone’s life is to simply be kind. It doesn’t take much, but a little kindness goes a long way. We met a man who had been on drugs for nearly 20 years. One of our staff members reached out to him, and simply became his friend. After years of struggling, this man finally was able to get clean and sober, and went on to help us at ARK Days, reaching out in kindness to others, as someone had once done for him. He later told us, “Brent never really preached. He just was my friend. He kept coming by for like a year before I finally made a decision. If he hadn’t come to my door, I would still be on drugs.” There are many more out there that just need someone to be kind. Simple kindness can change the world.
